The interview: what can be asked and what not?
Sometimes during an interview someone can ask you too personal questions. It’s good to know that this is not allowed and that a candidate does not have to answer it. What questions should be asked during an interview? And what questions should not be asked during an interview?
Interview: determine whether someone is suitable for the job
In an interview determines whether someone has meet the requirements that are placed for an ideal candidate. The questions are about whether or not someone is suitable for that particular function. It should make no difference whether someone is male or female, same-sex love or a different background.
Questions relevant to the function
Also, during an interview questions about work itself can be asked. In many cases, questions are asked about someones private life. The person does not have to answer them.
The question: “Are you pregnant?” should not be asked during an interview
Although many women do not know, an employer may not give a candidate the job because she is pregnant. In fact, that questions should not be asked because they lead to indirect discrimination on grounds of sex only in nice nice words. Also, questions about child or family circumstances should not be asked during an interview. Moreover, the reality is often quite different. Often women are asked about it. For men this is very different. They are almost never asked whether they have children or is their partner pregnant.
During an interview even health should not be an subject. This also applies to the number of times someone has been ill in a previous working place.
Medical examinations and interview
During a competition, an employer can not usually require the applicant to do a medical examination. There is only one case and that is when the job entails certain medical conditions. This is called a medical examination. With a medical examination employer can see whether someone is medically fit to be on required function.
